What A Smart TV Really Is
There is a lot of confusion about what a “smart” TV actually is. No, it’s not a hybrid of a computer and television. It’s nothing more than a flat-screen television that can connect to the Bell Internet Services. A customer can also see the phone features on bell.ca. Depending on what else you want to use it for, it’s a good idea to actually go to the store and take a look at some Smart TV’s.
Return on Investment
Smart TV’s are pretty expensive to buy, especially if you go to a retailer like Best Buy or Costco. That fancy 60” Smart TV can run you a lot more money than a smaller Smart TV. Many consumers forgo a Smart TV and opt for a regular flat panel television. Many people have chosen other options and are very happy with them. Yet many have chosen the Smart TV and are just as happy with that decision. The question becomes, what do you want to do, and how do you want to do it?
In making a decision, the consumer needs to consider other options. Well, it is if you want to begin an account with a service such as Netflix or Hulu. One of the nice things about a Smart TV is that since that television is equipped with a wireless card, a customer can easily go on to investigate phone features on Bell.ca Internet. They can find all kinds of movies and television shows.
The Cable TV Future
An aware cable customer may even consider cutting their cable bill in half, or dispensing with cable television altogether. For that reason the cable television industry views Smart TV and Roku type technology with much apprehension. The industry sees that, by accessing the Internet through Smart TV technology, Smart TV’s may do away with cable TV altogether. As long as cable television companies are a primary source for Internet access, that probably will not happen.
The Smart Future
In the future, if cities and other municipalities begin installing their own WiFi systems, Smart TV’s may eventually replace cable television. If it does not, for the immediate future anyway, cable is safe. However, if you wish to save money, it may be a better option to add a computer to your flat panel TV and forget a Smart TV. If you don’t have a computer, then a Smart TV may be your best option.
