Tablets are now one of the most sought-after gadgets in the world. But let’s be honest, nothing can beat the pleasure of a keyboard and a mouse. In latest gadgets, keyboard and mouse have been sacrificed for the sake of portability. However, what will happen if a tablet comes with a keyboard and a mouse, and still remains highly portable. In short, a sleek and lightweight tablet embedded into the efficiency of a laptop.
VAIO Pro 11 from Sony brings you just that. It is 0.68-inch thick and at 1.92 pounds, weighs lighter than the Surface Pro tablet. And hold still! It’s a laptop and it comes with a touchscreen.
Using carbon fiber to manufacture the body, Sony gives full credit to its team of designers for bringing out such a piece of beauty. It’s really hard not to marvel at its stupendous design. The 11.6-inch HD display screen is absolutely gorgeous. Sony uses its Triluminous tech to bring an enhanced depth in brightness, contrast and color. Not only the light of the screen but also the back-lit of the keyboard turns off when it isn’t touched for too long. The smartness behind the design gets also reflected when the back of the keyboard is slightly elevated when the laptop is opened.
Sight and Sound:
Windows 8 OS has a reputation of being fast. But on this laptop it’s even faster. The launch of applications is comparatively quick. Taps on the touchscreen has a very fluid response. While watching a video, I couldn’t help but compare it with my MacBook Pro. Even though VAIO Pro 11 has a smaller screen, the X-Reality engine and the Triluminous display makes it a clear winner.
In order to improve the quality of audio output, Sony has gone with its ClearAudio+ sound processor. The quality of the in-built speakers is really great. But if you are a person who likes to play things loud, I suggest you go for headphones or external speakers.
The Sony VAIO Pro 11 is available at $1,149. Other important specifications of the VAIO Pro 11 include 1.8GHz Intel Core i7-4500U, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM 1,600MHz of PC memory; 802.11n Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 4.0; and 1,748MB (Shared) Intel HD 4400.
